Mr. Gustavo Giugale is an attorney specializing in financial transactions and debt restructurings. Mr. Giugale, a partner at CEKD, has pioneered a number of Argentine financial trusts and debt restructurings. He led various international financing deals in Argentina and in other countries, structuring, negotiating and documenting transactions for banks and companies in the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States as well as serving as member of various Creditor’s Committees.

Mr. Giugale graduated with honors at the Argentine Catholic University in 1988. He was awarded the “Editorial El Derecho” award for distinguished academic achievement and in 1989 the University of London Scholarship for Overseas Students. Mr. Giugale received his masters degree in international business law in 1990 at the London School of Economics and Political Science. From 1989 to 1990, Dr. Giugale furthered his studies in international finance at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and at the University College of London. He is an Adjunct Professor of Public and Private International Law at the Argentine Catholic University and is currently in charge of the postgraduate course on International Economic Transactions at St’ Andrew’s University.

Mr. Giugale worked as a researcher in the United Kingdom for the International Economic Law Society and represented such entity in various academic events in England and Belgium. He also worked as a consultant for law firms and investment banks in the United Kingdom. Prior to his relocation in London, Mr. Giugale worked as special legal advisor in international law to the National Ministry of Defense. During 1997, Mr. Giugale worked as a senior international attorney in the Corporate Group of Chadbourne & Parke, New York. He was appointed partner at CEKD in 1999. He currently provides legal advise to major international companies doing business in the Republic of Argentina and represents several U.S. companies on steering committees that are on the vanguard of local debt restructurings.
