
Marcelo Etchebarne is a Partner in the Corporate Finance Group. Mr. Etchebarne has an extensive experience advising financial entities, buyers and sellers on M&A transactions and due diligence processes. He also has a significant experience on international debt and equity securities offerings and restructurings. Mr. Etchebarne acted as counsel to Salomon Smith Barney as arranger for the Province of Buenos Aires’ US$3.2 billion Medium-Term Note Program in 1998. Subsequently, he participated in approximately 30 bond offerings made by PBA and numerous bond and equity offerings made by local issuers of securities. He was considered one of the best 40 Argentine lawyers under 40 by the 2003 Latin Lawyer Survey.
He obtained his law degree at the Argentine Catholic University Law School with the highest GPA and was awarded the gold medal. He received an LL.M. from Harvard Law School. Mr. Etchebarne worked at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP (1996 – 1998), and clerked for Honorable Judge Anthony Scirica at the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Philadelphia. He was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1997.
